Seattle Update!

Hello Friends and Family,
We wanted to give everyone an update on our little girl's progress!  If you have not heard yet, Lance and I had a medevac out of Juneau on Saturday (November 22) due to pregnancy complications.  We flew down to Seattle where we received amazing medical care from the Antepartum Department at Swedish Medical.  Although we were scared we knew that this was the best thing that could have happened for our little girl.  We met with our specialist and she quickly scheduled us for surgery the next morning.  Sunday morning I went through a procedure that helps to keep the baby from being born too soon.  We were closely and continually monitored after the procedure at Swedish Medical through Wednesday.  Our doctor decided to allow us to move to long term housing near the hospital and gave me a list of things to watch for as indicators of preterm labor.  Post surgery, my body has done a great job of healing and taking care of our baby girl.  Other than some back pain from sitting around so much, Mama feels great!  Our little girl has literally not skipped a beat and is moving around like crazy - she just keeps growing!  We meet with our doctor on Tuesday and hope to get the good news that everything is back on track. If so, we hope to head home to prepare for this little girl.  We have been overwhelmed by all the love and support that we have received through this journey and cannot wait  (actually, we can wait) for our little girl to meet all the amazing people in our lives.  We also want to acknowledge the amazing medical care that we have received while in Seattle; the level of care that has been provided is second to none!  So, looking ahead we have a few huge milestones that we are shooting for:

* December 1st:  Week 25 mark!
* December 22nd:  Week 28 - which equals 95% survival rate and very little chance of long term medical issues, if our little girl comes early. She would spend time in the NICU, but she would eventually be perfectly healthy!  Anything after this date is icing on the cake!
*Febuary 16:  Week 36 - I fly back to Seattle to remove the "cerclage" (the procedure I just had) and if our little girl arrives at that time she won't need to be in the NICU!
